Happy Valentine’s Day, Comic Shop Friends! If you’re reading this before 4pm on the 14th, stop in the shop and say hi to Carol! She’ll be here from noon to 4pm on Wednesday the 14th, maybe longer depending on how she feels, and she’s excited to be back in the shop and see all of you! And if you’re reading this before the 15th, come on out for our Valentine’s Day Late Nite Comics! We’ll be staying open until midnight, with 60+ long boxes of dollar stock coming out, and if you get 100 or more, they’ll be 50 cents each! We’ll also have a bin with Valentines, and each one has a number for that many free dollar books! Everyone’s a winner, and you could get 1, 3, 5, 10, 20, or 50 free books! Hey, Comic Shop Friends! First up, big news! Winston, and by default, the shop, is now on the ShopCats app! You can give Winston virtual scritches, log your visits to the shop, and add pictures of Winston! There’s also a map to help you find other shop cats in the area. My favorite thing is when I open the app, it tells me when there’s a shop cat nearby! Cats! Now onto the news you actually care about: It’s Take Your Mom to Work Day at CNJComics on Wednesday, February 14th! John’s going to bring Carol into the shop to hang out for her 80th (!) birthday! She’ll be here when the shop opens at noon and plans to stay until at least 4pm. (Maybe later, depending on how she feels.) Stop by and say hi! Hi Comic Shop Friends! We’re finally at the end of January! Did this month feel like three months to you too? It’s also a fifth Wednesday, so that means some annuals and specials to finish out the month, but first a little bit of shop news. Late Nite Comics will be Thursday, February 15th from 8pm to midnight! We’ll be bringing out a ton of dollar stock again, and maybe we’ll have some other discounts too! Ben will also be co-hosting the Lenora’s Midnight Rental Secret Screening at the Grog Shop on Wednesday, February 21st at 8pm! It’s gonna be a big one because it’s the one-year anniversary of the Secret Screenings, the Valentine’s Day show, and Rachel from the Grog Shop’s birthday! Stop out and join in the fun! Then, the day after that we’re heading to Pittsburgh for the annual ComicsPro meeting! We had a great time last year, and are looking forward to bringing back some exclusives for you guys! Oh, hello Comic Shop Friends, how’d you fare with the arctic blast? Luckily, it held out until we were closing up from Late Nite Comics last Thursday, but it was a slow weekend at the shop. So, to help clear out some more backstock and leftover dollar books, John put out small press back issue boxes for 25 cents each, along with a whole box of Wolverine dollar books! We’ll leave these out while we have room, so come get some great deals! 25-cent comics! How often do you see that?!? While we’ve had time this past week, we updated our Rec Wall! Now each row is its own theme, with our personal picks, creators we all enjoy, popular characters, and select universes. All of our recommendations are either first volumes of series, stand-alone or contained stories, so you can grab anything as a starting point. Andrea’s Bizarro Picks for 01.10.2024

Hi Comic Shop Friends! It’s another small-ish week, so we’re having a quiet start to the year at the shop, which is a nice break after a busy December. A couple of things coming up: Late Nite Comics is back! Thursday, January 18th from 8pm to midnight we’ll be pulling out dollar boxes, and those books will only be 50 cents each! Grab some deals and fill up your collection! You can’t beat 50 cent books!e We have a temporary setup until the new back issue bins are built, but dollar books are out in their new home! There are still a few action figures left, but that’s it, since we won’t be carrying action figures anymore. We will still carry statues, and Ben just did a reorder on those to fill the case back up! Ben is also co-hosting with Lenora at the Midnight Rental Secret Screening at the Grog Shop on Wednesday January 10th!
