Back Issue Sale and Featured New Release

Back Issue Sale and Featured New Release

Let’s start off with the big announcement, from Wednesday October 14th to Sunday October 18th we’ll be offering  50% off all back issues. This will be the last time for 50% off back issues until Black Friday, which we’ll drag out through the whole week to lesson the traffic. So think November 23rd to the 29th. But why wait for then when you can just come in now! (Yes we just put some books up on the wall, and they will be 50% off too.) Back to our regularly scheduled programing! Here’s the featured new releases coming out this Wednesday, October 14th, 2020! After the return of the Green Goblin last week in ASM #49, “Last Remains” begins in issue #50 as Kindred’s Identity is revealed! Expect the whole Spider Family to be involved in this one as Nick Spencer’s plot threads all start to weave together! This week is also the conclusion of the Moon Knight story in Avengers #37. What a great run! Wait till you see who is (temporarily) the new Sorcerer Supreme and Iron Fist to...

Batman #100 & Spider-Man #49

Batman #100 & Spider-Man #49

We’ve done the math and this is the biggest new comic day this year. (It’s kind of nice to be able to say and maybe a sign that things are improving a little.) The big two both have some pretty big releases, as well as some from stuff from the indie’s as well. Here’s the featured new releases coming out this Wednesday, October 7th, 2020! DC BOOKS Batman #100 is here and with it the end of the Joker War! The final showdown between Batman and the Joker, and we even get a few back up stories that show us where the series is headed. Bruce also meets Clownhunter for the first time and they talk about what he’s been up too. (Between this and Three Jokers Batman seems pretty comfortable letting killers walk around, which is a new spin on the character.) MARVEL BOOKS Spider-Man #49 is a giant $9.99 issue featuring the return of the Green Goblin! Lots or creators on this one with a main story by series regular Nick Spencer. Lots of covers too so come...

Batman and the Joker at CNJComics 9-30-2020

Batman and the Joker at CNJComics 9-30-2020

We’ve got  a truly incredible week of new releases, one of the best weeks so far this year. Get ready! Here’s the featured new releases coming out this Wednesday, September 30th, 2020. DC COMICS The big book this week is Three Joker’s Issue #2, which lives up to every expectation I had for it. For the first time since Batman The Cult I like and empathize with Jason Todd. Issue one was a great set up but this one really cuts to it. Creepy and well thought out, with some ticks in Batman’s thinking that actually make sense conceptually. We did get the premiere variants on this issue as well, and unless you specified one we’ll pick a cover at random. Here’s a reminder of what they all look like! One of the best parts of getting DC Comics from UCS now is that we have a few days to read them before they come out. That makes all the difference for two of this week’s books, the Batman Joker War Zone One Shot and Dark Nights Death Metal Multiverse’s...

Featured New Releases for 9-23-2020

Featured New Releases for 9-23-2020

We’ve got another week full of new releases, including the kick off of the new X-Men Crossover, X of Swords. Here’s the featured new releases coming out this Wednesday, September 23rd, 2020. Marvel Comics X of Swords Creation is the first chapter of the storyline that will run through all the X-titles, 22 total. (plus a few preludes that have already come out.) In tarot cards the Ten of Swords can stand for deception, warning you to be careful of where you place your trust. Reversed it can mean overcoming this adversity. Combine that knowledge with all the actual swords from Marvel history and you’ve got the makings of a pretty interesting storlyine. This kick off issue is even written by Jonathan Hickman! Here’s a checklist you can use to follow along: (easy to print out and turn into the shop.) Donny Cates killer run on Venom continues along with some reprints of previously sold out issues. Speaking of Cates, he rocked the shop with Thor #6, revealing a possible future with Thanos holding Mjolner covered in Infinity Stones while...

Featured New Releases for 9-16-2020

Featured New Releases for 9-16-2020

We’ve had a crazy few weeks, and we’re happy to spend this one just focusing on this week’s new release! There’s some great stuff across the board, from DC to Marvel to Independants. So hey! Here’s the featured new releases coming out this Wednesday, September 16th, 2020! DC COMICS The big book this week is Detective Comics #1027, at 144 pages for $9.99 it feels more like an original graphic novel than a comic book. Everyone wanted to work on it too so you’ve got new stories by Matt Fraction, Brian Michael Bendis, Grant Morrison, Greg Rucka, Scott Snyder, Marv Wolfman, Kelly Sue Deconnick, Tom King and more! Lots of covers too, and we’ll have all of them hitting the table at noon. You can dig around online to find them but here’s one by J. Scott Campbell! Joker War continues in Batman #99, after the very satisfying previous issue. (For real, #98 was just really good storytelling, and I think it’s great when a storyline can take an upbeat turn a couple issues before the end.) Make sure you’ve...

50,000 Marvel/DC Comics $1.00 EACH

50,000 Marvel/DC Comics $1.00 EACH

So, the big news this week is that we are opening up the foyer again with 150 long boxes of Marvel and DC comics in there for only $1.00 each. (50 cents each for 100 or more!) The Bins are Open That’s about 50,000 comics and a majority of them are in order too. They’ll be in the foyer from Wednesday September 9th till end of day Monday, September 14th. (We thought we’d add one more day after the weekend.) Opening the foyer adds five to our occupancy limit but try and keep a respectful distance from everyone while you’re digging. DC New Releases New releases this week include DC’s Death Metal Trinity Crisis One Shot, which is written by Scott Snyder and ties directly into Death Metal. The big three are back again, and they’re up against the Anti Monitor, Superboy Prime and Darkseid. (dare I hope this pokes a little fun at previous crises?) A good story is a good story, and I’m giving a personal shout out to the Basket Full of Heads Hardcover written by Joe...
