Featured New Releases For 9-19-2018

Featured New Releases For 9-19-2018

We’ve got some great stuff coming in this week, the kind of stuff that’s worth a special trip to the comic shop! Wolverine is back, Batman starts off DC’s new Black Label brand and we’ve got some great $1.00 reprints from Marvel! Here’s the featured new releases coming out this Wednesday, September 19th, 2018! BATMAN The big book this week is Batman Damned #1, DC’s first Black Label book, meaning adults only! Azzarello and Berjemo are a dream team on this $6.99 off format 3 issue mini series. The Joker is dead, Batman can’t remember if he did it, and John Constantine has to help him figure things out. I read a preview and it’s great. Good Zatanna material too. (Watch out for Bruce Wayne’s wiener though. No joke.) You will also want to keep an eye on Batman #55 this week, as something happens to Nightwing that will have major ramifications for awhile. You’ve been warned! WOLVERINE AND MARVEL After years and years of waiting, a big hole in the Marvel Universe is about to be filled. Wolverine is back...

Batman Day at CNJComics Saturday 9-15-2018

Batman Day at CNJComics Saturday 9-15-2018

Hey! This Saturday is Batman Day at the shop! That means we’ll have two FREE Comic Books for you created exclusively for the day! The first one is the first issue of Batman White Knight written and drawn by Sean Murphy. Set in a world where The Joker is cured of his insanity and homicidal tendencies, The Joker, now known as “Jack,” sets about trying to right his wrongs. First, he plans to reconcile with Harley Quinn, and then he’ll try to save the city from the one person who he thinks is truly Gotham City’s greatest villain: Batman! The second book is Batman Lil Gotham, an all-ages book by Dustin Nguyen! First, Robin needs Batman’s help to learn the true meaning of Halloween. Then, on Thanksgiving, Batman and Robin join the families of Gotham City around the table for a holiday feast-and birds of a feather flock together to stage a march against the city…led by The Penguin! This book really deserves the all ages rating as it’s just as entertaining for adults as for kids! To complement this, we’ll be offering: 20%...

Just a heads up that’s we’ll be having a free signing with Sina Grace, writer of Ice-Man for Marvel Comics, from 6 pm to 8 pm on Friday, September 21st.  This signing is in conjunction with the first annual Flaming River Con which will be held the next day on Saturday, September 22nd In Rocky River. The first 50 people in line will get a copy of both Ice-Man #6 (The starting point for Ice-Man in the Marvel Legacy restart) and the All New X-Men Annual #1 (Which contains one of my favorite stand-alone stories by him). The first 100 people will just get the Ice-Man #6. (But that’s still pretty cool of us!) This signing came at the perfect time, as Sina’s new Ice-Man #1 comes out this Wednesday, September 12th! Grab a copy for the signing in advance this week! “He’s back! Iceman is back! Which is good, because someone is hunting the Morlocks for sport. Venom and Featured New Releases for 8-29-2018

Venom and Featured New Releases for 8-29-2018

It’s the fifth Wednesday in a month, which means a lot of off the wall stuff to fill the regular publishing void. Here’s the featured new releases coming out this Wednesday, August 29th, 2018. VENOM With the movie coming up, we’ve been meaning to featured Venom, so that’s how we’re going to start this week. The new ongoing Venom series is great and written by the popular Donny Cates. We have reprints of the first four issues coming in this week, so you can catch up.  The symbiotes have been on earth for a while, and were actually bonded with soldiers in Viet Nam. This week we have the Web of Venom Ve Nam Special, also written by Cates and elaborating on this part of his current storyline.  This week we also have a new Venom five issue mini series, First Host with art by Mark Bagley.  Here’s the latest trailer going around as well! OTHER FUN STUFF Other fun stuff this week includes four new DC / Looney Tunes crossover one shots including: Catwoman / Tweety and Sylvester Harley Quinn / Gossamer...

Fantastic Four and Sandman Return at CNJComics

Fantastic Four and Sandman Return at CNJComics

Two big releases, one from each of the big two, highlight this week’s new releases! FANTASTIC FOUR First, after years of absence and some petty rights issues, the Fantastic Four return this week with a new book by Dan Slott. There has definitely been a hole in the center of the Marvel Universe since the end of Secret War, and it’s a hole that contained it’s heart. Marvel Two in One has been an outstanding stop gap book, but there’s nothing like having the Fantastic Four back on the racks. There are so many great covers that you’ll just have to check them out here. We won’t have all of them, but we will have a lot. As a ComicsPro member store we will have the Jen Bartel variant, which we highly recommend. There’s even a short story inside drawn by Skottie Young! We’ve even got classic John Romita pins to give away with your purchase! Here’s the cover to the Kirby Variant just to give the whole “legacy” perspective. SANDMAN It’s the 30th Anniversary of Sandman! Feel old yet? Over...

Upcoming Releases for 8-1-18

Upcoming Releases for 8-1-18

Well, San Diego Comic Con has come and gone and left us with some pretty cool trailers and hints of what’s to come. We also had a very cool event at shop, our first annual swap meet in conjunction with NEO-TACC! Thanks to all who came out, set up, and participated! It was great, totally cool vibe, well attended and we’re calling it a success. We’re excited to do it again next year and expand on the idea. I had a really good time with my family, which is always the standard I hold our events up too. Here’s a link to some event photos taken by Laura Wimbels.  NEO-TACC also has regular monthly meetups, so be sure to check them out here. This big new release for Wednesday, August 1st is Infinity War #1. We’ve been building up to this since Infinity Countdown Prime, and last week’s Infinity War Prime was an instant sell out and set the stage for this week’s #1. We’re also going to give you a heads up on the new Fantastic Four #1, which...
