Happy Thanksgiving, Comic Shop Friends! We’ll be closed on Thursday for Thanksgiving. This is my second favorite holiday because I love a day of feasting and watching the MST3K Turkey Day Marathon. Our Black Friday weekend sale is this weekend! Friday the 25th through Sunday the 27th, we’re doing 50% off all back issues, 20% off statues and action figures, and 10% off everything else! And the foyer will be filled with Marvel and DC $1.00 stock! Also, on Sunday the 27th, Ben will be set up at Genghis Con from 12 pm to 5 pm! Stop by to check out a bunch of local artists and creators! This year’s Holiday Art Show theme is Spider-Verse! We have the sign-up sheet and blank covers out for you to pick up now, and the art is due back by Sunday, December 11th. The art will be on display Wednesday, December 14th, through Saturday, December 17th, and winners will be pulled at the Holiday Party on the 17th. First, a reminder that this Thursday, the 17th, is Late Nite Comics, and we’ll have over 60 (maybe 70!) long boxes of small press and indie books for only 50 cents each! 50% off back issues too! 8 pm to midnight! Come hang out and dig for treasures, and maybe John will let me play my Thanksgiving playlist. Hey everyone, John D here! Andrea’s been doing a great job of keeping us updated on all the new releases, but I’m here to give you a rundown of what we’ve got going for the month of October, including Halloween! First up, we’ll be hosting another Late-Nite Comics event on Thursday, October 20th, from 8 pm to Midnight! (Always on the third Thursday of the month!) As anyone who went to the last one knows, we are now pulling $1.00 unprocessed overstock out of our back room, with some really great stuff in there that we just haven’t gotten around to processing. Crazy good stuff, and we shoot for forty long boxes at every event. Since it’s Halloween season, we thought we’d invite a special guest out to the event. We bumped into Cory Holliday at the Cleveland Haunt Club’s event, and he had some really great artwork paying homage to Classic Comic Book Covers and Horror characters. Hey everyone, Andrea’s on her Halloween Honeymoon, so it’s just me this week with a few reminders! This weekend we’ll be celebrating Halloween by having 50% off back issues all weekend, including the wall! If you just want to shop, we suggest stopping in on Saturday for a leisurely browse, as Sunday may get a little crazy with our full-on Halloween event! On Sunday from noon until 5 pm, we’ll be giving out free comic books to all in costume and even a few to those that are not. We’ve got nine different books to choose from, and if you’re in costume, you can take all nine. (that are age appropriate!) Books include Amazing Spider-Man, Star Wars Doctor Aphra, Moongirl and Devil Dinosaur, Spidey and his Amazing Friends, Strange Academy, Godzilla, Parasyte, Batman: Hush, Batman’s Mystery Casebook, and Black Adam!
