We’ve got some great news! We are again in talks with Chris Claremont to have him come out for Free Comic Book Day on August 14th, the new offical date for the event! Hopefully things will shape up enough by then for this to become a reality. We will keep at it and hope for the best! So what are we going to do this year on that first Saturday in May in lieu of Free Comic Book Day? Get ready for… NOT FREE COMIC BOOK DAY! Not Free Comic Book Day will be an historic ‘event’ where (for the first time in our history) we will pull ALL the books out of our back room and storage locker and put them in the extra storefront (the one we usually use for FCBD 100 feet from the shop) at only $1.00 each. (50 cents each for 100 or more!) It’s got to be around 200 long boxes with a range of Marvel, DC and Independant. (especially independant, as these books are never stocked in the shop. We’ll even do this...

New Releases at CNJComics for 3-31-2021

Before we start this week’s new releases it’s time again to say thanks for the tremendous amount of support you’ve given us this year. With the pandemic slowly pealing back a bit we’ve been doing great, and the only way for us to process that is to say thank you. I keep saying that the only real difference between 2020 and 2021 is that we have no illusion about doing events this year. Last year we kept laying out plans that never got to play out so this year we feel like we’ll just know when the time is right. That being said, Free Comic Book Day is being heald nationally on Saturday August 14th this year.  FREE COMIC BOOK DAY We do plan on having an event but it may look a bit different than it has in the past. We are likely looking at a scaled down and manageable event with a focus on the day portion. We’re keeping in contact with Chris Claremont and we will be ready to have him out if the opportunity presents itself....

With indie names like Jill Thompson, Wes Craig and Marguerite Bennett on board, this book has our attention.  I’m really excited about the Captain America Anniversary Tribute One Shot, even with the $6.99 price point. First up we’d like to thank everyone for a very successful Winston World. We did great, and we hope everyone got some really great deals on stuff. Expect an entirely new back issue wall this week as we go back to our standard 25% discount! Also look around the shop for a few new sections, like our “Try Something New and Independent” display, where we showcase indie books that are great entry level reads the staff personally loves. This includes both #1 issues and graphic novels. Also we’ve made a display of the top 60 DC graphic novels, which we also put together ourselves. Let us know if you think something is missing that should be there! (but keep in mind quite a few books that would have made our cut are out of print.) We are also slowly expanding our Manga selection by popular demand. (It’s a slow roll as books are really hard to find.) Anyway, let’s get on to this week’s featured new releases! MARVEL COMICS Amazing Spider-Man #61 and #62 feature a brand new costume, designed...
