Black Panther, Harley Quinn, Poe Dameron and the Road to Civil War II

This is the week you’ve been waiting for! Huge new comic week with some truly impressive product across the board. Get ready to be excited for the featured new releases coming out this Wednesday, April 6th, 2016! In a week with lots to pick from, we’re going to lead with Black Panther #1 by Ta-Nehisi Coates, national correspondent for The Atlantic writing about Culture, Politics and Social Issues. Black Panther’s been a highlight of the Civil War trailers, and Marvel has put together a team to reinvigorate the character in print. Keeping track of Coates’ efforts as a first time comic writer along with his process with artist Brain Stelfreeze has been pretty educational. Here’s a recap in Coates own words. Really worth the read. This Wednesday is also the Star Wars Poe Dameron launch party. (which basically means we’ve got some free stuff to give you with your copy is issue #1.) Free Batman Superman Comic Book

Batman V Superman Dawn of Justice is out this week BATMAN vs. SUPERMAN We’ve got hundreds of copies of Superman Batman #1 to give away. Written by Jeph Loeb (Batman Long Halloween, Superman for All Seasons) with art by Ed McGuinness, this is the first chapter of the Superman Batman graphic novel series. Really great story with lots of Kryptonite. This book will be free with any purchase and we ordered enough to be able to give them away for at least a couple weeks. Big news for the comic book as Batman #50 marks the return of Bruce Wayne as Batman. Love it or hate it, Jim Gordon’s run is over. Bruce is back just in time to take out Mr. Bloom. Oversized issue that will have Polybagged variants, some of which contain autographs. CIVIL WAR To stay one step ahead of the movie game, Marvel is re releasing all of the Civil War graphic novels. Here’s the featured new releases coming out this Wednesday, March 16th, 2016. EASTER Time to start your Easter shopping and we’ve got stuff to help you fill up those baskets! A huge inventory of superhero action figures, pop funs, buttons, magnets, bottle openers, pub glasses (why not?), playing cards and of course comic books and graphic novels. (Gift certificates too) BATMAN vs SUPERMAN Batman vs Superman will be dominating next week, but this is also a pretty good week for Superman fans. Superman #50! This week will be short and simple, though it’s still kind of a big week. Here’s the featured new releases coming out this Wednesday, March 9th, 2016. BATMAN VS SUPERMAN Batman Vs Superman is only a little over two weeks away and during the month of March DC will be offering another round of black poly bagged variants to coincide with the release. These sealed variants will have an equal mix of penciled, inked and colored covers inside. Word’s not out yet about whether or not this round will have original art in them like the Harley Quinn black bag variants. In Store Convention Kick-Off on 3-5-2016

Hot on the heels of Wizard World comes the In Store Convention Kick-Off this Saturday, March 5th from noon until 8pm. Get a first look at upcoming projects from the biggest publishers in the industry, hear from your favorite creative teams, and ask questions to special guests – all without the crowds and confusion of a regular convention. Here’s all the information on the day! Select shops around the country have signed up (and paid) to be able to broadcast this event live within their shops. Winston World 2016 is here at Feb 26th-28th

The weekend you’ve been saving all your money for is finally here! WINSTON WORLD 2016 ON FEB 26TH-28TH WINSTON WORLD Welcome to Winston World 2016! To celebrate the historic occasion of a national comic book convention coming to Cleveland, we’ve decided to have a weekend sale in case you can’t find what you’re looking for at the con. This year we will also be setting up a booth at the show as well, selling off two pallets of Marvel Graphic Novels that we bought for just $5 each. (we wanted to make the whole thing as easy as possible for us in case we wound up accidentally inebriated.) Meanwhile, back at the shop, Winston will be holding down the fort during his events Sophomore year. Our shop cat Winston is a celebrity on par with Chris Hemsworth, and charges only about half as much for a photo. Don’t believe us?! Check this out. Apparently Winston is ‘trending’ on the internet.
