Alright! We’re back in business after FCBD and we’ve got a huge week full of amazing stuff. (This is likely my favorite week of 2019!) Here’s the Featured New Release coming out this Wednesday, May 29th, 2019! DC Books Batman Last Knight on Earth will be the culmination of all of Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo’s work on Batman! It’s a new three issue DC Black Label mini series, just like Batman Damned. (you know, the one with the…) Batman works his way through a devastated DCU landscape with Joker’s head in tow. They say this is their final Batman story together. $5.99 prestige format. Another much anticipated book is the Superman Leviathan Rising Special! It’s up to Superman’s friends to save him from Leviathan! This will be Matt Fraction’s DC debut with Jimmy Olsen, as well as Greg Rucka’s take on Lois Lane, all wrapped in a story by Brian Bendis. This week we’re deviating from the norm to give a shout out to a book we really love. The Immortal Hulk by Al Ewing recently got a pretty big honor, it outsold Batman for the month of April! Since this stat is not true in our shop, and we love the book so much, and we finally got new printings of the first two graphic novels, AND the third graphic novel came out this week, we thought we’ve urge everyone to hop on board and give the book a try. The book is redefining the mainstream horror genre, and well as flesh out the Hulk sometimes convoluted history. Here is the best pitch I can give, straight from Marvel. Free Comic Book Day 2019 *UPDATES*

With three weeks to go, it’s time to share information on this year’s 18th annual Free Comic Book Day! Every year we choose a theme to help give the event a little bit of structure, and by popular opinion, this year’s theme is The Uncanny X-Men! So many people, myself included, were affected by Chris Claremont and John Byrne’s run on Uncanny X-Men, teaching us the strength in being different as we grew up.  (Let’s not forget Cockrum too, who, looking back at it now, was every bit the master Byrne was, if not more so.) Their combined body of work is the foundation for everything that came after, and that’s what we’re here to celebrate. Everything. Our FCBD event is not just a celebration of the culture, it’s a celebration of our City. We embrace our local communities, from artists to cosplay to comic book collectors and readers. FREE COMIC BOOK DAY IS ALMOST HERE! But first we’ve got some featured new releases to get through. This week’s big Marvel Book is Savage Avengers #1! Imagine an Avengers team consisting of Wolverine, Venom, Punisher, Brother Voodoo, Elektra and …Conan! You can even get your first look at this team for free on FCBD, with the Avengers FCBD Special.  DC has a huge week lined up. We’ll be giving the DC Year of the Villains Special away for FREE on FCBD, but you can pick it up early for only 25 cents! Yes, the one with the Winston back cover! There are also ratio variants, 1:100 ($5), 1:250 ($10)  and 1:500 ($30)! DCeased is a six issues mini-series, think DC Zombies! Lots of great press out there for this one, written by Tom Taylor. New Releases and FCBD Updates for 4-24-2019

Alright, we’re all getting ready for Free Comic book Day 2019, but here’s a quick email with some updates, new releases and info. Expect the final FCBD email next week. For now you can check all the information we have right Here! WE’VE NEW COLLECTIONS! The big news is that we bought a pretty major collection, mostly 50’s and 60’s Batman and Superman DC’s. This includes associated titles like Detective, Action, Adventure, Superboy, World’s Finest, Lois Lane, and Jimmy Olson. There’s also lots of other fun stuff like Showcases, Justice Leagues, and lots more. There were also a handful of Marvel’s like the Fantastic Four, Strange Tales, Tales of Suspense and others.  Sorry for the shiney pictures, again, we have lots to do here. We have processed most of the keys and these books are ready to be looked at. About two long boxes are out, and we hope to have three more ready by Free Comic Book Day. These books will not be 50% that weekend, but they will be the standard 25% off, and they’re actually 25% off...

Featured New Releases for 4-3-2019

Last week was owned by DC and Detective Comics #1000, this week is all Marvel with  the War of the Realms! Here’s the featured new releases coming out this Wednesday, April 3rd, 2019! War of the Realms This will be the first major event for Marvel in some time, and it’s the culmination of Jason Aaron’s efforts over in Thor. The forces of the Ten Realms are headed to Earth for an all our war with the MCU. Other than Aaron’s involvement we’re really excited about the street levels characters joining in, like Punisher, Daredevil and Squirrel Girl. This book has a ridiculous amount of covers, so just pop into the shop early and get the one you like the most.  Here’s a quick recap to get you up to date! War of the Realms is a six issue mini-series that will last into June. There are checklists for the next three months if you want to print them out and turn them in.
