Featured New Releases for 2-3-2021

It’s a really big new comic week at the shop! Here’s the featured new releases coming out this Wednesday, February 2nd, 2021! Star Wars High Republic is the new multimedia launch from Lucasfilm, set in the glory days of the Old Republic, when the Jedi flourished. First and second prints of the new #1 sold out instantly nation wide, and the second issue look to do the same this week. We will have copies of the first issue of Star Wars High Republic Adventures coming out this week, with stories skewering towards an all ages audience.  Amazing Spider-Man #55 had a great cover by Patrick Gleason, and second prints of that are out this week if you missed it.  In additon to being a fun free for all over the right to wield the Phoenix Force, Avengers #42 has one of the last Alex Ross Timeless variants, and it’s a doozy.  We love Hawkeye in our shop, so I ordered up a bunch to make sure everyone was covered. It’s the final week of January and we’ve got a full line up of new comic releases! Here’s the featured new releases coming out this Wednesday, January 27th, 2021! DC Comics Comin’ ATCHA DC Future State has six new titles, including FS Aquaman #1, FS Dark Detective #2, FS Batman Superman #1, FS Suicide Squad #1, FS Legion of Superheroes and FS Superman vs Imperious Lex #1! Dark Detective will catch you up with what Bruce Wayne is doing, Suicide Squad looks like an evil rif on the Justice League, and Superman Vs Lex is by Mark Russell, who always puts an interesting spin on things. Batman Black and White #2 is out, with three different covers and stories by Tom King, Mitch Gerads, David Aja (Hawkeye and Iron Fist artist!) and many more! It’s week three for DC Future State, and Marvel has some pretty great offerings as well! Here’s the featured new releases for Wednesday, January 20th 2021! DC COMICS The Future State book I’ve been waiting for is Immortal Wonder Woman, as I’m a big fan of Jen Bartel’s art. (this will be her first interior art for DC) Diana Prince at the end of time. Back up story with Nubia. Two issue series at $5.99. We now know that Tim Fox, Lucius’ other son, is the new Future State Batman.  We ordered up on the Braithwaite variant because we knew it would be hot. Four issue series at $7.99. Future State Superman Worlds of War puts Clark Kent way into the future and into outer space to fight as a Gladiator on Mongul’s Warworld Two issues series at $7.99. The other titles this week include FS Catwoman, FS Nightwing and FS Shazam, all two issue series at $3.99 each.  The first issue of Batman Catwoman was great, this was the Tom King book I wanted when the wedding went bad....

After a good start last week, we’ve got more DC Future State books hitting the new comic table. (we only had one copy of one book left by Sunday, but fear not, reprints are coming.) DC COMICS This week’s titles include: Dark Detective #1 (of 4) $5.99 This is the book featuring Bruce Wayne set in the near future with Gotham under the command of the Magistrate! Grifter back up story.  Future State Justice League #1 (of 2) $5.99 All the new incarnations of the classic heroes fighting together! It’s finally over! 2020 is almost in the books! That means everything can go back to normal again right? Right? We hope everyone had a great Christmas, and we’re ready for a couple more days of 2020. The shop will be open normal business hours on Thursday, New Years Eve from Noon – 8 PM and then Closed on New Years Day, Friday, January 1st, 2021. New Releases – DC Here’s the featured new releases coming out this Wednesday, December 30th! Next week is the final issue of Dark Nights Death Metal, which will show how we get to Future State, but for now we’ve got a few books to help clear out the year! Batman Annual #5 is a Clownhunter origin issue with art by James Stokoe and written by James Tynion IV. Great looking book and Stokoe is always one to watch out for.  Dark Nights Death Metal The Last 52: War of the Multiverses One Shot is an $8.99 special that expands on individual battle in the big issue to come. Final Days of Holiday Sale and Art Show Results

We are proud to announce that with your help our yearly art show for the Greater Cleveland Food Bank has set a new record! This year we we will be able to assist the Food Bank in creating 20,360 meals to those in need. (The previoud record was 14,276.) To put that record in perspective, they can serve a meal every minute non stop for two weeks straight, so please give yourself a round of applause.) We learned alot this year and some of the changes that have been made due to CoVid will remain in place next year. Our Facebook Live Show went off without a hitch really, and it was really fun to see everyone in the audience.  Even if you didn’t win a cover you still win big by being a part of this effort. Thanks to the artists who contributed their time and talents, and thank to everyone who bought tickets or spread the word about the show.
