New Releases and New CoVid measures at CNJComics 5-19-2021

Just a quick one again this week!  Starting off we’d like to remind everyone that we still have our CoVid measures in place until June 2nd. The CDC guidelines are only causing confusion and are really impossible to enforce without checking papers at the door. (which we are not doing.) We’re going with the law of the land in Ohio just as we have been all along. Rest assured that we will be lifting all health measures on Wednesday June 2nd as permitted by the Governor of Ohio. We’ve come really far and we’re in the home stretch so please help us out for two more weeks. Anyone who wishes to keep wearing masks after that will not be disrespected in our shop, do what you need to do to feel safe. Even with the social distancing measures lifted let’s all give each other a little extra space this summer until we come down a bit from what happened. As always, be cool. If there’s anything we can do to make the transition more comfortable, please let us know. We...

New Releases for 5-5-2021 at CNJComics

First off thanks for a great ‘Not Free Comic Day’ event! We had a steady crowd all day, we stayed under the occupancy limits and the whole thing felt really comfortable. We hope everyone got some great deals and found some new stories. It was really awesome for us to see a lot of those small press comics find a good home. All in all I think we sold around 40 long boxes of comics over two days! We can now confidently head into the real FCBD on August 14th with enough funds to make it awesome. Zoe also got to work her first official shift at the comic shop and Carol even came out to watch over her.  We will keep reassessing what Free Comic Book Day will look like as the restrictions lift, but for now we know it’s at least Free Comics, Chris Claremont and an Art Show.  Now on to this week’s featured new releases! MARVEL COMICS Marvel has an ambitious project out front this month with the weekly Heroes Reborn seven issue mini series by...

Chris Claremont Coming to CNJComics

Chris Claremont Coming to CNJComics

The big new is that we’ve signed Chris Claremont to do a signing for Free Comic Book Day this year on it’s new date of Saturday, August 14th, 2021. FREE COMIC BOOK DAY We’re not completely sure what FCBD will look like this year, but at this point you can count on Free Comics www.freecomicbookday.com and Claremont doing a signing from 10am to 7pm. First autograph is free in the spirit of the day, after that it’s $10 each, which is very reasonable. We’ll give you updates month to month but for now let’s just let that sink in for a moment! Big win! “NOT” FREE COMIC BOOK DAY This weekend we’ve got “NOT” Free Comic Book Day, in place of our usually event on May 1st and 2nd! Let’s be honest, this is really just a cash grab to help us finance the real FCBD in August. Help us out! Stop in and spend some money! For the first time in our history we’ll be pulling ALL the books out of our storage locker at once for only $1.00...

“Not” Free Comic Book Day at CNJComics May 1st and 2nd

“Not” Free Comic Book Day at CNJComics May 1st and 2nd

We’re only a little over a week away from our “Not” Free Comic Book Day event on May 1st and 2nd and we’ve got some new details to share with you! First and foremost, this is not in any way a regular Free Comic Book Day, mostly because the comics are not free. There are no local artists or costumes, this is just a place holding event until August 14th, the day that FCBD has been moved to nationally.  You can even see the books that will be available then here. What will that FCBD look like? We don’t know yet, but we feel we’re heading in the right direction. We are working towards having Chris Claremont out but this is still in the planning stages. If it happens there will be an open autograph session for all the the 14th. We will likely have no more information on this until June 1st. The staff has told me that lots of people have been asking for additional details but at this point there are none. Please stay tuned until then...
