It’s that time of year, and we have an art show theme again! This year’s Holiday Art Show to benefit the Greater Cleveland Food Bank is ….. “Spider-Verse!” Here’s how you participate! Stop by the shop and pick up a blank comic cover from us. They are free of charge and you can do two if you like. Please complete the cover with any medium you choose. (This includes digital! Many people now print their art out on cardstock and glue it to the book’s cover.) Give us your rendition of an alternative universe Spider-Man (or woman!) The artwork must be turned in by Sunday, December 11th at 5 pm. Please keep artwork to the front of the cover only, we only have the ability to display them this way. When you stop by to pick up a cover, please connect with an employee so they can take down your contact information. Happy Thanksgiving, Comic Shop Friends! We’ll be closed on Thursday for Thanksgiving. This is my second favorite holiday because I love a day of feasting and watching the MST3K Turkey Day Marathon. Our Black Friday weekend sale is this weekend! Friday the 25th through Sunday the 27th, we’re doing 50% off all back issues, 20% off statues and action figures, and 10% off everything else! And the foyer will be filled with Marvel and DC $1.00 stock! Also, on Sunday the 27th, Ben will be set up at Genghis Con from 12 pm to 5 pm! Come hang out and dig for treasures, and maybe John will let me play my Thanksgiving playlist. Hey everyone, John D here! Andrea’s been doing a great job of keeping us updated on all the new releases, but I’m here to give you a rundown of what we’ve got going for the month of October, including Halloween! First up, we’ll be hosting another Late-Nite Comics event on Thursday, October 20th, from 8 pm to Midnight! (Always on the third Thursday of the month!) As anyone who went to the last one knows, we are now pulling $1.00 unprocessed overstock out of our back room, with some really great stuff in there that we just haven’t gotten around to processing. Crazy good stuff, and we shoot for forty long boxes at every event. Since it’s Halloween season, we thought we’d invite a special guest out to the event. We bumped into Cory Holliday at the Cleveland Haunt Club’s event, and he had some really great artwork paying homage to Classic Comic Book Covers and Horror characters.
