Welcome spooky friends to the first newsletter of October! I’m ready to pack in as many horror movies as I can this month and read all these great horror titles we’ve been getting. But first, shop events, and then on to this week’s new releases!  This Saturday, the 9th, is the BAYArts show, run by friends of the shop Jeff Ritchie and Jim Giar. John D and Ben will be set up with a photo booth and some comics for sale, so stop by and check it out! Our Halloween event will be Sunday, October 30th, from noon to 5 pm! We’ll have free comics, candy, and photography services for all in costume!  And our next Late Nite Comics will be on Thursday, October 20th, from 8 pm to midnight! Hi Comic Shop Friends!  In shop news, we have an ALL NEW Marvel Silver Age back issue wall rerack! With a long box hitting the table with more new Silver Age Marvel books! Come in and check it out! In two weeks, on October 9th, the shop will be set up at Bay-Con in Bay Village! So stop out for that too! I’m excited about some new horror books this week, so let’s get to it! MARVEL Marvel’s Voices: Community #1 returns with another celebration of Marvel’s Latin/x characters and creators. Fabian Nicieza and Paco Medina have an action-packed Nova adventure, Edgar Delgado and Luis Morocho take us on a spider escapade with Miles Morales, and Alex Segura and Roge Antonio have a new tale for White Tiger. Plus, the introduction of a brand-new character and three other stories from new and established artists. Hey Comic Shop Friends! First, a few little updates for the shop, and then we’ll get into the new books! This Wednesday, the 22nd is Late Nite Comics! We’ll be bringing out a bunch of new dollar stock (Marvel, DC, and Small Press) from 8 pm to midnight, and starting at noon, when we open all back issues will be 50% off in honor of John’s birthday. That includes the Celebrezze Collection boxes and the back issue wall! So you’ll have twelve hours to shop that 50% off! Come hang out and celebrate John’s birthday with us. If you know anything about me, you know I love Halloween, so I’m psyched that Halloween ComicsFest is coming up on October 30th! We’ll have some free books, and candy, and of course, costumes are encouraged! One last thing, we are STOCKED up on action figures, so start your holiday shopping early! Hello Comic Shop Friends! This month’s Late Nite Comics will be delayed for a week, but with good reason! Late Nite Comics will now be on Wednesday, September 21st, to celebrate John’s 50th birthday! (It would normally have been on Thursday the 15th.) In addition to staying open until midnight, we will also offer 50% off all back issues all day! Yes, that includes wall books, and this will be the first time books from the Celebrezze collection will be half off! That’s twelve hours of half-off back issues, from noon until midnight! Hello Comic Shop Friends! We’ve got lots of Batman this week, some new number ones, and some horror for the start of the spooky season! First, there was a nationwide issue with shipping on some Marvel titles, so we are currently missing some of this week’s books. These are: Punisher, Star Wars, Wolverine, New Mutants, Moon Knight, and Captain America: Sentinel of Liberty. If you find you’re missing those, we will have them in, but there’s no timeline on when yet. But let’s get into what we do have! MARVEL The new Alien series from Phillip Kennedy Johnson and Julius Ohta starts this month. Hello, Comic Shop Friends! It’s the fifth week of August, so that means Annuals and one-shots! Lots of entertaining reads this week, so let’s get into it! MARVEL HEADER The comic that brought you Spider-Man hits #1000! Marvel brings together an all-star roster of creators to celebrate the 60th birthday of Peter Parker and Spider-Man, including Mike Pasciullo, Neil Gaiman, Jonathan Hickman, Kurt Busiek, Terry Dodson, Michael Cho, and Jim Cheung. There are nine great stories in this anthology; fun, touching, and something for any Spidey fan. Jumping forward in time Ant-Man #2 continues the journey through Ant-Man’s history with some Eric O’Grady grave robbing.
